Free Ericcson T68i with 1 year contracts *No Rebates* SoCal only

I just got my Sony Ericsson T68i from a store in Los Angeles county area. It was Free with activation and one year contract!

One problem. It's with ATT and right now GSM in SoCal is having LOTS of problems. And they only have 2 plans, the $40 and $100 plan, which IMO suck because there's so little variety. I'd rather get the phone with T-Mobile's $40 plan and actually get free weekend and reception.

I just went to the store and yes, this phone only has two GSM plans. The $40 and $100. I wish there are more variety to it.

I went to the store this weekend and got the phone! But with T-Mobile, and I can't be any happier!!!! This phone is absolutly amazing!! All my friends can't believe how cool it is (yes I'm in highschool ) It was $50 for the phone with T-Mobile, $25 tax, $25 activation...not bad for such a "sexy" phone. It is free with ATT with a $50 rebate, but since ATT GSM is soo spotty in LA, and T-Mobile is actually pretty good, I'm happy.

For reception, T-Mobile is good in my area. Everyone says it is Cingular, and Cingular sucks, but really, I get reception wherever I go and I'm satisfied. Places being City of Industry, Diamond Bar, Walnut, Chino Hills, West Covina, Pomona, etc etc beach etc ...

My sister wants the unlimited ATT plan. Is there any way of getting a deal on a ATT GSM phone for a plan upgrade? The best ATT could offer me was the nokia 8890 (I think) for 50 AR (not too bad but still).

att is fine in so cal. I have it and i never get a system busy tone and reception is good. Most people say verizon is the best though.

Are you sure? Everyone I know that got T-Mobile (to their utter regret) in the areas you mentioned can't get a good signal. They call me on my AT&T GSM or home phone and the signal gets dropped all the time. I get full signal where they can't even get service. I'm in West Covina and AT&T is mostly good. Bad only a few times where I think they maybe working on the nearby towers or something.

Well I don't know what to say...I don't regret my purchase at all...T-Moblie and T68i for $75 out the door...

In my time with the phone, I've only experienced 2 places where I get no reception, both in Walnut where my old ATT TDMA never got recption, Sprint doesn't, Cingular doesn't, etc etc...

All I can say is try it out and if you like it keep it...if you don't, go for ATT...(their plans really need to change)...

Do not get Cingular if you live in SoCal, the reception sucks. Actually, it sucked when I would visit my gf in the Bay Area too. I switched to Verizon about 6 months ago and the reception is alot better. Go with Verizon or ATT, because T Mobile is just Voicestream which has been known for poor reception in the past.

GSM = Cingular, T-mobile, part of ATT, part of nextel.

Cingular, t-mobile, att share same antenna... reception? . shouldn't vary between those carriers... if you belive cingular really sucks in an area where T-mobile or ATT's is really good at,, then your 'feelings' might have caused that decision..

have 3 phones in my hand right now.. ATT, t-mobile, cingular.. along w/ veri.. and nextel on the other side..... those 3 are same..

*btw.. nokia 8390 is also free in those market areas.. (most stores are run by Asians from what i saw)

w/ att plan, you can add $5 per month for Unlimitied N/W .. (i think ATT switched the night time to 9pm this July) better than T-mob's $7 per month..
