I think the least I can do is spend 2 hours watching a movie which simply asks why. I think I owe those who have died for this country at least that much. I can make up my own mind regarding what I see.

Take this sh!t back to P&N where it belongs. Here is a link incase you got lost.

As much as i agree with that, this is a movie that people otherwise would have to pay for making it a hotdeal, most people paid 8 bucks to see it in theatres, seeing it free is a hot deal, and if u want to see it or not is up to you.

Mickey Mantle is a hero of mine. Suppose that Mickey Mantle had become a pilot and was flying a plane that I was on. If Micky proved to be a terrible pilot, I would yank his ass out of the pilot seat.

sat4fun: That would be a good response, if you had picked him as your pilot. Let's say you pick him, and he ends up being a bad pilot. It's not his fault, YOU picked him. So if he crashes and you both die, the responsibility is as much yours as it is his.

And you were right, I am 13, retarted, and apathetic.

Again, you missed the point. Democracy is our chance to choose our leader. If the leader in the pilot seat is failing, regardless of who chose him, it is time to get rid of him. Simply put, Bush has failed and will lose tomorrow. Please show me a Bush sucess. Please. The Redskins loss yesterday was beautiful. Bye-Bye Bush.

It didn't take much for me to deduct that you were these things. You better run now, the short bus honking.

Straubs, you are correct. A true patriot strives for a BETTER country.

Cheapest, like most Bush supporters, you missed the point. Bush had the country, the whole world on 9/12/01. He had me until his incompetence and lies were proven. He has lied to us. He lied to the entire country in the State of the Union address in 2003 to get us to war. Where on earth did you ever get the idea that Moore, or anyone else is not saddened by 9/11. This is simply not true. As a matter of fact, we are madder than you, but we want to go after the people that caused this pain.

Now go watch it again.

Crying to lock a week old thread? Give it up. Dude, voting for Kerry is a better deal than getting another 16x DVD bunrner for $59 at Newegg. You think that your grandkids will care for that burner when they are paying off the debt that Bush is building? It's time to think about the important stuff. It's the day before the biggest election ever.

Kerry in a landslide.

I love how the RNC has financed five movies in the last six months to smear Moore, but only one to smear Kerry. That movie was the famous Sinclair movie. They are desperate and have nothing.

Bush, 24 more hours till you are offically a lame duck. Maybe you can go on vacation. I'ts been hard work.

Can you please take your political rhetoric elsewhere? This is a hot deal because it is Free, just like the Vote for Kerry, Vote for Bush bumper stickers. But this political debate is getting old.

Oh, and just for the record:

"Please show me a Bush sucess. Please."

OK, no problem. Don't know about you, but I got a tax rebate check after Bush was elected. And no, I am not part of the group that Kerry likes to whine about as the top earners in America. In fact, at the time, I was a struggling Graduate Student, living on Top Ramen. To this day, I laugh very heartily when Kerry gets up on his soap box and claims that the Bush tax cuts only benefitted the rich.

In other words, I got to spend more of the money that I EARNED, rather than having the government decide in all their ultimate wisdom where MY MONEY should go. That my friend, more money in MY POCKET that I EARNED is the definition of a HOT DEAL.

$400 to sell your soul. Is that the best you could get. With all of the issues today, is that the best that you could do? I suggest that you look at more that just payroll taxes when you calculate your overall tax burden. Can you really say that you are better off today?

I will keep it up till it is locked. Kerry will have won by then.

Well... that tax rebate probably only feels like a "HOT DEAL" because it was in the form of a check. Since you admitted that you are not in the top few percent of earners in America, the reality of the situation is that you have lost money since Bush was elected. If you are a part of the middle (or lower middle more likely) class than you are shouldering the taxes of this nation.

Osama is backing Kerry, too. You and Osama. I'm sure HE thinks he's making America better as well. The question is, better for whom?

EDIT: FREE is always a hot deal...no matter what it's for.

First I thought this was a joke... a pretty funny one. Who doesn't love a bit of comedy after all? But I've read it a bit... maybe Freakflag was being serious with his Osama comments? How confusing.

Personally, I was surprised that Moore did not go further in his condemnation of Bush and his behavior on 9/11.

1. Bush and his staff had planned his trip to talk to those grade-schoolers for some time, so it was actually fairly likely that his location (and therefore not only the president himself, but all those kids) was known by the terrorists, and it was fantastically reckless that he stayed in that room after being informed of the attack.

2. It was known that the planes that crashed into the world trade center were not-responding about 45 minutes before they crashed, standard procedure in this circumstance (especially with the length of time) is to sortie planes to take them down if necessary.

3. Bush, as the President, is the only person who can order a civilian aircraft to be shot down. His continuing to read to children is obscene in this circumstance. Although I find it also extremely disturbing that he was not appraised of the situation earlier.

4. What are we to make of the fact that this attack was known of well in advance? That even Clinton was warned of it? Besides, have we all forgotten (did you even know?) that Clinton had a order to assassinate Osama across the world? That he was stronger anti-terrorist than any president ever?

9/11 WAS avoidable. Not just like I could have avoided dropping my milk on accident, and maybe if I could go back in time I could avoid it. More like I saw it happening, and then gave it a little push just to make sure it did happen.

Oh please you pompous a$$... You insult my intelligence with remarks like that. Is that the "best I could do?" You moron... This is a HOT DEAL thread. In terms of a HOT DEAL, yes, a check in my hand is a freaking HOT DEAL, especially in comparrison to the alternative (a bill). YOU are the one turning this into a political thread...

Am I better off today? Hell yes, and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with this president, or the previous president, or this self-serving idiot you are claiming to be this country's savior. It has to do with HARD WORK, which is something that I'm not quite sure you, and especially Senators Kerry and Edwards, understand anything about.

IF Kerry actually cared about doing something to help the middle class, he would have AUTHORED a bill during his 20+ years in the Senate. Did he or Edwards actually ever DO ANYTHING while employed on MY TAB as a Senator? NO! Neither of them have ever authored anything... They have DONE NOTHING! They show up for their job less than 30% of the time. Damn, you know what, if I showed up less than 30% of the time, I WOULD BE FIRED!

Someday, I WANT to be in that higher income bracket, just like 99% of Americans out there. Do I WANT to be punished for working hard to get there? Hell no... Explain to me WHY I would vote for someone whose entire tax platform has been how those in the higher income brackets don't pay their fair share? Especially someone who doesn't even show up to EARN the higher income he earns, funded by me, the TAXPAYER...

Money in my pocket = HOT DEAL
Punishment for working harder = ICE COLD
FREE movie rental, even if it is for something you don't agree with = HOT DEAL
Political Discussion in a Hot Deal thread by someone obviously overzealous about their candidate = ICE COLD

I'm voting for Kerry or against Bush (however you see it) but I have to admit the political talk has steered this thread totally in the wrong direction.

The thread is about a deal to view a movie for free, not an invitation to debate politics.

Make your opinion known at the polls tomorrow. Arguing here doesn't do any good one way or the other.

Actually, you are kind of hilarious. There is an actual term for your beliefs, it is called the "achievement ideology" it refers to your mistaken belief that hard work is the variable that effects success in America. Of course, no one is discounting the odd success story you might have heard of... but you do realize there is more to it than that don't you? You do realize the the people in the top bracket are there due to circumstance, luck, and almost always because their families are rich.

And you do realize that extremely extremely rich people pay relatively LESS in taxes than you do? People who are not rich pay WAY more taxes than the top few percent that you so ridiculously wish to become a part of.

Although, I should note that I do not find anything hilarious about people saying that they hope someday to be those few lucky rich people at the top... it breaks my heart in a very serious way. Because I know, just as many educated people, that it simply is not going to happen... ever. No matter how hard you work.

but then again, the American way is to blame the victims. Because, you know, they were stupid lazy people that didn't work hard.

I wish people understood that a vote for liberals, is a vote of selfishness (in a good way). You will never in your entire life be rich, just like I won't. You will never benefit from the policies of people like Bush (despite what you mistakenly believe from your check rebate). Liberal policies means that you will get extra money for your life, it means the people in your peer group will live better lives, and so will your family.

But then again, why are conservatives anti-kerry? It is stupid to even think he is a liberal. when did you last find a democrat, that had a chance of winning, that was a liberal? they are all conservative. Just, maybe, hopefully, they are slightly less conservative.

Can you explain what you mean by "And you do realize that extremely extremely rich people pay relatively LESS in taxes than you do?"? This doesn't make any sense. And, even if it did, no proposed tax plan would EVER fix that. Will it matter, (all fairness aside), if Kerry raises the tax for the highest of brackets? No, because they do not pay taxes based off of this income - they hide it by buying rental houses and depreciating them, etc, and then paying taxes on what is left over. The only fair tax plan is a flat tax... imagine how simple (and fair!) that would be. But, do you ever hear of any candidates talking about this? No - they want to play the percentage games for more votes.

And then there is the amount of money saved by drastically reducing the IRS, etc, ...
