They could have taken it back, but that hardly justifies STiSev calling them "the worst f'skin company ever". These sites slap on what the manufacturers specs are, and imo the manufacturer was more responsible for the error and in fact they probably should have taken it back directly and refunded him, especially since it was beyond the 30 day return period.
I think you're the first person to have pointed out that the purchase of the fan was past 30 days when he decided that it was inadequate. Thank you. Furthermore, it has been shown again and again that the fan in question IS actualy AMD approved for that CPU. It's on AMD's site and Thermaltakes and for the kind of board in use, the temps weren't that high. I'm sorry that "it had to go down like it did", but there's too many reasons NOT to do the RMA. I can be flexible with RMA's sometimes, but....
[*]The fan was chosen by the customer. It was not forced down his throat. TCWO sells other fans.
[*]The fan was bought more than 30 days after the request was made. If it was within 30 days, it would've been exchanged for whatever he wanted.
[*]The fan is appropriate for the CPU, so the reason for return is not valid. It's like asking for an RMA # for an AGP card because it doesn't fit in the AGP slot.
Now I'm going to work before I get my ass in a sling. Got to deal with more angry customers. Remember: If you want something for nothing (j/k) or feel that you haven't been treated fairly.... ALWAYS ASK NICELY!
PS: Scottee... Don't TELL ME you're complaining about $4? Man... I thought I was bad. I bought some fans (no heatsinks) and cables from 2cooltek (weighing less than 1/2 pound total) and I was charged $6 for freight and I was kind of upset. I mean.... He's right across the state from me! No hard feelings Ian.
