wesbc, like i said YMMV. it depends on how much the sales rep reads into the ad, but everyone should get it at $14.99 regardless.



Holy cow, i just realized i have 300 fuji TYs, 330 pny's from BB and bunch of imations. Looks like I'm set for another month or so

Got the last pair of these puppies on the shelf at CC today. Manager gave no problem pricematching to $14.99 and when the rebate forms printed out she folded them up and put them in the bag as well. Total cost after rebate - $1.78 ( 6% Sales Tax)

I bought some of these before... one pack was labeled 12x and the other 16x, even though same UPC. I use them in my liteon 24x and they work flawlessly - I've burned about 40 of them without a failure.

The Fuji's that are Taiyo Yuden's (the ones I had, I think its pretty much all of them) are rated to burn at 24X. Some of them say 16X but that's just because the labels were printed before the 24X came out. Others have a sticker over the 16X that says 24X. If its TY, it will burn at 24X.

The clerk was glad to do the PM, she goes to the back and claims to have called BB and said that BB's in-store price was $24.99 with $15 in MIR, so she claims to be the same deal. I even showed a printout of BB's web page, but she said they don't PM websites. Oh well, Still have about 3 spindles of these from the last OM deal.

Well I just got two of these myself!!!
In Walker Michigan...

I checked the online availability of the two stores near me, and today they showed not in stock (they were there yesterday night)
So I figure that if I want this hot deal I better take my chances and go now (I figured that the online count would be off what was really in the B&M)

So I print out the Best Buy webpage...the one that shows the 14.99 price (shopping cart) and headed down to Circuit City...
When I got there I saw 4 on the shelf...I grabbed two and with my printout in hand headed to the check out. The cashier rang them up and said my total was 50 something...

I said that I wanted to PM Best Buy because they were having a 3 day sale and showed him the print out...He mumbled something about is there a rebate with this...I said that the 14.99 price did not include any rebates...I just wanted to pm BB sale price with your Sale pirce...
He runs off to get his manager and call BB....about 10 minutes later he came back and rang me up two for 14.99

He even showed me how to fill in the rebate receipts...then put them in my bag...how nice!

Yes, the local print Best Buy ad has these listed as $24.99 with a $10 instant rebate and a $5 mail in rebate. You would think that they would at least have offered you the $14.99 price.

God, my local CC manager is such a moron! Tried as I might, he would NOT give me the price saying in the end, the price is the same. I told him if I buy it at BB now, I'll get it for $14.99 and if I buy it at CC, I'll get it for $24.99, so I wanted to get the $10 difference. But he said no, it's the same price!!! :| I argued for about 5 minutes and then I left pissed off. Looks like I'll have to go to another CC which is 20 minutes away now :| IDIOTS!!! I had similar trouble with my local BB during the Thanksgiving GF3 Ti200 deal. They denied me once, so I too had to go to another BB 20 minutes away. WTF? Is my town attracting the most stupid managers? And I'm not even talking about Staples that doesn't want to price match website prices either!!! Say it with me, WTF? :|

Wow, that is annoying. His reasoning was probably that the Circuit City price is also $9.99 once you take into account the $5 and $10 rebates: $24.99 - 10 - 5 = $9.99.

My goodness, how does YMMV, SeiyaMan? This post deal analysis only leads to buyer's remorse, but will you please enlighten me on how an ad can be read to give a price match of 9.99? You may PM me with the secret sauce, but try as I would, I only had the minimal printer copy of the BB ad that showed 14.99 and no rebates...(although the Fuji website will provide a $5 rebate with the appropriate receipts and original "eBate" form). With that, I called the store and got an OK, and then went to the store where the clerk started seeing the price to me after rebates evaporating and she goes to her manager who of course puts me through the 15 minute drill whle I watch him punch codes into the register...20 screens later he gives the OK for PMing 14.99 and I take the last three with the wrapper still on them (two are still on the shelf with no wrapper and no UPC code).

So I have to ask, how was it that I didn't make $15 less tax and instead got 150 CDRs Taiyo-Yuden Fujis for the California State Tax of $3.36 after a successful rebate cycle. I want to improve my opportunities and welcome your suggestions.

Both the BB and CC websites show the exact same model number: 25301475

Just back from CC @ Atlanta, GA and grabbed last one there. Obviously that guy didn't want to do this PM at first. After he had contacted his manager, I finally got it at 14.99. Didn't get the rebate form though, had to use the online one.

Placed another order on CC.com a min ago, would try it again tomorrow.

However, I went to the other CC and they gave me a bit of hassle with the $10 IR, but in the end, they gave it to me for $14.99 - $15 in rebates. Finally. I got two packages and there was one more left. Yippee.

Uh, most of the people getting in on this deal are getting 100 discs 30 bucks very little hassle with a good chance to get rebates and make it free. For me it was a half hour invested with a possible $30 return. Not a bad chance to take if you ask me.

I did the order online/in-store pickup thing. I took the BB ad and a print of my BB.com shopping cart containing the spindle for $14.99. When I went to pick up I asked if they could PM BB, and the cashier said I would need an ad with the price. Showed her the printout first and she hardly looked at it. Refunded $20 to my card for the two spindles and handed over the goods a couple minutes later. See how easy it is? I hardly ever have to try more than once, and never more than twice, to get a PM on something reasonable like this.

BTW there were a dozen or so left on the shelf at CC in Jantzen Beach/Portland around lunch time in case anyone needs some.

Whitneymuse, like I said, it depends how much your manager reads into the ad. Mine looked at the ad without seeing the rebate fineprints because the ad does have that big $9.99 on top. So go find someone who might be careless

SeiyMan...ah so...first, I really like that icon, the Linux_Penguin-dudette. That was mine, too, before 9-11 and then I went to flags and now, of course, it's a dada_da_da_da Christmas...so that was my down fall; not having THE ad...oh to have that Ad...me? I just read this thread, went to the ol' website, printed out the BB link and trundled into the nearest CC after first contacting my local sales associate and verifying that this transaction was [ko-pes-the-tic]. Even with that preparation, the deal was going down hill as soon as my contact, "*****", decided she needed to involve her manager into the deal. My one statement that may have either killed it or saved it was: "well, you're right; it's very beneficial to me; That's why I'm here...btw, if I thought it was a very savvy way for CC Mgrs to increase their cash-flow through their store...." Of course, my guy was very good and he continued to review his screens....he said, "I'm concerned with EVERY PM that comes through...".......(more clicking through screens with me cooling my heels)....so I finally meekly vocalize, "Will you give me that price?".........(click-click)...OK....but doggone....that's what you get for not doing your homework as you did...get that AD....you want the price....do your homework....no wonder MMWV
