After reading some of the posts here. I purchased the Fujifilm 50pk CDR from CC online for pick up at Springfield, PA store. I brought the
Bestbuy.com ad with me for the item showing the sale price of $14.99. I thought there would be no problem with a pricematch because the B&M Bestbuy was within a 5 mile radius of the Springfield store. The mgr.named Robert was"not very accomodating" to say the least and REFUSED to pricematch! I pleaded my case saying, "I can buy this same item at Bestbuy.com and pick it up at your competitor's store (BestBuy) now for $10 cheaper. He refused to listen saying "We don't match ANY online pricing unless it's from our own website!" Needless to say I was steaming. They called BestBuy only to find out that the $14.99 price is for Bestbuy.com and is NOT available at the B&M store for $14.99. Well I said, "But I CAN purchase it online for $14.99 and pick it up at the BB store, just as I have done with CircuitCity.com!" He said, I can't do it that would be cutting the price in half and we wouldn't be making any money!" So I said, "Look, would you rather I just cancel my order then you don't make nothing AND you lose a customer!" He said, "I can't do it!" Fine, I cancelled my order.
I was so damn pissed at the whole thing, I called CC Online cust service and explained things. A guy named Scott was a good listener but didn't offer to do anything until I told him that I spend alot of money with CC annually and that by CC refusing to part with $10 today, it will cost them thousands of dollars in the future because I wouldn't buy from them AND that I would post my negative experience with CC on internet forums. He immediately, contacted the store MRG. at CC in Springfield and they made arrangements for me to come in and buy the CDR's at $14.99.
This was definitely a "Hot Deal!" However, it shorten my lifespan by about two years and caused me to go gray prematurely.
