"overclocking it by cutting the wire on the JEN jumper and replacing it with the 3 pin jumper"

be careful, I have one laying around on the floor here that I tried this mod & failed
It got to the part in bios to change fsb, I did & rebooted & it never posted again. Tried everything & got advice from folks here & on the ASUS board.
Now it's roadkill. Literally, it gets stepped on sometimes, I was too upset & tossed it across the room in a fit of "man throws computer out the window".

I could use a Duron or Thunderbird processor. CPU is the only thing I am missing, I already have a board, ram, power supply, etc.

I have a Celeron 500 I can donate, as well as a couple small 1.5 - 2 gb hard drives

I need a working socket A board. Will trade for it. Have some PCI and AGP video cards, small (850 MB to 4.3GB) hard drives, NICs, Sound cards etc. I also have a AMD K62/400 on a Tyan S1590 AT (has AT and ATX power connectors (1 AGP, 4PCI, 4 ISA) slots that runs but has busted ears.tabs on the CPU socket.

PM me with any wants/trades.

I'll ship UPS no charge any items for that working socket A board. (I have a some dead boards with CPU's but no way to tell what's good/bad)

Here's what I got to trade for a working Socket A board:

WD 850MB (Caviar 2850)
Seagate 1.2GB (ST31276A)
IBM 2.1GB (DAQA-32160)
Seagate 4.3GB (ST34323A)
Seagate 4.3GB (ST34310A)
Yamaha XG PCI sound card
SB Live! (CT4830) PCI
SIIG PCI USB Card (has four ports on the back and one internal)
SCI PCI FireWave IEEE 1394 FireWire card
Number Nine AGP SR9 8MB Video Card
Diamond ST64 Video 2001 TV 1+4 PCI Video Card w/tuner (no software)
Creative SB AWE32 ISA (CT3600) PnP

To the best of my knowledge and abilities, all of the above work. The stuff was working when pulled/rescued but not actually tested. The drives will be formatted to "C" prompt.

a thought, i've got loads of cat5e cable and a couple of patch panels, so if anyone can use any of that i'll send it out. Also, i got a crimper and cable ends so if anyone needs patch leads or a crossover cable so they can connect two boxes, just let me know

I have a spool of CAT laying around too (bought for LAN parties, haven't used it yet...) I'll be more than willing to have Adul crimp the hell outta that spool for the cause!

Edit: OK, I suppose I could do some work too if need be...

If someone can help me find a good OC 2500+, I will update down the line and will have a 1 GHz Athlon to donate.

Basically every 2500+ is a great overclocker via raising the FSB to 200 MHz. Don't really care about this locked, unlocked multi stuff and pre-week-40 and so on. Just grab any 2500+ and raise the FSB of your mobo up to 200 along with maybe a bit more core voltage (1.70) and good 3200 RAM and cooling and that's it!

I think I may have to do that.

Besides... I have been wanting to order a NEC2500a from Newegg anyway.

One of the AMD soldiers is now up and running, will have the other up shortly. I read the thread wrong initially that night, it was late. I thought I saw 1.2 T-Birds. I see I was wrong when popped it in and it immediately came up at 1.4.

I'll work on seeing how much I can get out of the ECS board now beyond 1.4

Treat them good David....they've been good to me for several years!

Thanks for giving them a good "crunching" home!

I could use an Athlon/Duron CPU for a K7SEM motherboard preferrably with HSF. I have the case, P/S, ram, HD and accessories.

Otherwise, I could trade or give away (you pay shipping) for some of my spare parts. Here's the list:

SDRAM(100) - 64M (2)
EDO(-70) - 32M (2)
EDO - 16M (2)
small harddrive - 3G (1)
PI CPU's - 166-200 (2)
AMD K2/233 and K2/266
PII - 533 (2) only 1 fan for them (pin)
floppy Drive - 1
