I don't know about free parts i have lying around, there going to be put to use someday, but i found a really cheap case and PSU that might be suitable for a cruncher, if you don't want an ugly crack rack lying around.

I haven't bought and used the case myself (but I probably will soon) so don't chase me down if you cut your fingers off on this cheapie but here's the Case It's build quality doesn't look too bad in the pics, and for $34 shipped, can't beat the price

EDIT: i have a 633celery sock370 (think its a coppermine, its a compaq pull) that i can't use

Engineer,
Are the Tbird 1.4's Tbird B's or C's? My dad has a KT133 board with a Tbird 1.0B. If you have 1.4B's that'd be like 40% more raw crunch

I have a 16MB ATI Xpert 128 PCI Video card I can give for the cost of shipping if needed.

I need DDR RAM (preferably PC2700 or higher but I won't be picky) for an XP 2200+ machine (just got in on a Newegg refurb deal). I'll gladly pay for shipping (money order, I'm poor and don't have a CC or checking account) and a little for the memory.

EDIT: I will crunch for the donor's preferred DC project if requested, otherwise the machine will be used for F@H.

Please PM me and bump this thread if you have an offer!
Thanks!

^Bump

Free shipping of any item(s) on my list for a working board for a Duron 1.3!!!!! I will ship first or cross ship.

Again, all for the TeAm. I'd just buy a board, but my wife would kill me if I bought one more thing without getting rid of something else.

I have a Celeron 500 to donate to the cause. Please PM me since I don't check this thread much.

OR, if someone wanted to send me a board that the celeron 500 would work in, that would be nice also

I've scraped together an old P-200 and am almost ready to crank it up (I'm honestly putting it together to squeeze out an extra WU or two a day!). What it lacks (besides a better CPU) is a Cat5 cable (so's I can hook it up to my other machine and share the cable modem) and maybe some more RAM (currently sitting at 64M).

PM if you might be able to help out!

Also, if anyone has a spare KVM switch and cables, I could really use that, too!

Thanks!

The link you listed shows ppga Celerons. If they are PPGA and NOT FC-PGA I can use them.

I have an Palomino 1600 you can have for your board if it will take it. I don't have a HS/F for it though.

If those are PPGA and you have any PC100 or HS/F's. I'll need some. If not i'll check around and see what I can find.

I may be able to get a 2gig HD or two if anyone needs it.

Hmm...

I think I have a backup Tyan S2460 (dual XP) board. I thought it was bad but I think I just wasn't using the right ram (registered DDR). I could give it up if someone wants to pay the shipping. I need to verify I still have it, though.

Didn't Engineer just have one of those Tyans go bad on him?

I just loaded Win2Kpro and then SETI on twin XP1800+ in a Tyan S2460 board last night. First WU was 3:30.

I get to use it for a couple of weeks, until MrFluffy gets his new video card, and wants the twin back.

Yes, but I had "power thirsty" TBird 1400's on there instead of nice XP chips. It's recommended not to run anything above XP1900's on them because of the severe power Pull on the 5 volt lines across the ATX connector. The newer Tyan board with the 760 MPX (I think that's the number) uses the 12 volt lines and regulates them down to 5 volts on board to assist the 5 volt incoming lines.). The older version pulls up to 40 volts on 4 lines that were designed to pull a maximum of 28 amps.

Good Luck conjur....that board needs to be running!

Will that board use XP's or does it need MP's? If it can use XP's I can get it going
Or I could mod the XP's .

I have the memory,HD,Case, Psu, everything but the HS/Fans. I have one.

I could then pass on a board for the 2 Cel's trevinom has

I have a board just like it using XP1800+ just fine!

I'll check that box in my closet tonight when I get home and make sure it's actually still in there.

It will use XP's (I'm using XP1800's on one and XP1900's on another), but they must be MP unlocked (via factory or L5 bridges (I think?) connected). There are a few tips on 2CPU.COM for doing the unlocks!

GIVING AWAY
I have an old p133 system for anyone that wishes to pick it up. it's in a huge 2ft tall steel case. It has a 1.something hd, either 32 or 64 ram(haven't checked in a while), floppy, cdrom, 56k modem, sound blaster audio card, zip drive & a couple extra slots if you want to add something. It was about to be thrown out by a neighbor, but I don't have the time to deal with it. I think it 's already running 95 or 98, but it was running slow with a bunch of useless programs in the background. I recommend a clean install of your choosing.

I NEED
I have had this vaio tower sitting on the shelf here for months on end. It's a p3 866 socket 370 with a 133 fsb and 128mb sd ram. model# PCV-RX360DS. I'm somewhat sure that the motherboard is what's keeping this rig from working. It powers up to the dos screen, but the keyboard & mouse inputs don't work. It's been a while since I've looksed at it, partly because I only have 1 monitor for all my systems, & having to pull it off everytime to check something else out is really fustrating. It needs to be microATX(around 9x9).I am willing to pay for one, if a donation cannot be found.

A decent 17+ monitor to borrow for temporary use, or a decent 17+ flat screen crt or better to purchase.

This is all in the nyc area.
Thanks.

IIRC, there were some XP1800s that came out already unlocked. I believe the XP1800+ we are using are of the unlocked variety.

Since 2:30am this morning, that twin has spit out 5 WUs. averaging 4:21 per WU.

Ray did you have to mod the ATX connector?
I been reading at 2cpu that some models have melted the connector on the MB:Q

No didn't have to mod anything.

Although that's what happened to Engineer and his Tyan. He even posted a pic or two of the burnt ATX connector.
