Globat has free hosting for year after rebate!

Speaking from current experience, I would pass on Globat (although their introductory prices are quite hot). Their control panel is mediocre at best, and they try to charge you for any amount of options (I.e. additional FTP user or sub-domain).

If all you're going for is a cheap price (and even if you're not), go with DreamHost's "777" deal (<$10 1st year+domain). They offer the most by far, for the least. Their custom-built control panel also allows you to make even the most detailed of changes.

i tried globat and within the first 24 hours of signing up they screwed everything up... it was an utter nightmare and their tech support is a joke. this company prides themselves on 24/7 tech support but its not live, live phone support is only available during business hours

anyway... i paid $95.50 and was to receive a mail in rebate for that amount back. I was so displeased within the first 48 hours I cancled, which was inside their 7 day money back deal. it took near daily communications with their online support and no less then 5 phone calls to them to get my credit card refunded - and that was mostly due to me telling them that when i got off the phone i was calling american express to dispute the charge and would persue it as far as i had to.

as stated above - i'd pass on them
