Well, i'll give this CS rep credit, she did try very hard to get me upgraded, but wasn't able to.
She tried to get me to Tech support after "talking to her supervisor", but I wouldn't let her. I said, "if it is YOUR system that won't let YOU upgrade my account DESPITE what YOUR technical support department says, shouldn't YOU be the one to talk to them about it?".
So she did, and tech support said they couldn't do anything about it (and she had thought if I talked to them they could).
So she spoke to sales (and her supervisor some more) with no luck.
THEN, she came back and said the reason was, although technically my LOOP LENGTH is ok (6099 feet) my GAUGE LENGTH is over 12000 feet. And apparently when tech support qualified my line for the upgrade, they didn't factor in for the wire gauge and the additional length associated with it.
Does that sound right?
Here's the banger, they said right now I'm provisioned for a 768/128k line, BUT, i'm at 1.5/128k. So I expressed to her that her own system is contradicting itself twice over.
But alas, what it came down to is the good ol' line, "I'm sorry, but I can't do anything about it".
I hope I don't get fvcked if/when they upgrade the download speed.....
