Get enough SPAM lately? Have you ever gone to a website that asks for your email for no reason (other than they are going to sell your email address to the highest bidder so you get spam forever)?

Welcome to Mailinator(tm) - Its no signup, instant email. Here is how it works: You are on the web, at a party, or talking to your favorite insurance salesman. Whereever you are, someone (or some webpage) asks for your email. You know if you give it, you'll be on their spam list. On the other hand, you do want at least one message from that person. The answer is to give them a mailinator address. You don't need to sign-up. You just make it up on the spot. Pick jonesy@mailinator.com or bipster@mailinator.com - pick anything you want (up to 15 characters before the @ sign).

Later, come to this site and check that account. Its that easy. Mailinator accounts are created when mail arrives for them. No signup, no personal information, and when you're done - you can walk away - an instant solution to one way spammers get your address. The emails will automatically be deleted for you after a few hours.

Let'em spam.

haywoodjablomey@mailinator.com will work for me.

Be careful with it. Anyone can check the email of whatever Mailinator address you use.

If you're signing up for some forum and you get a confirmation email containing your forum account password, be sure to change that password.

EDIT: Luckily the mail will be gone after a few hours so it isn't a huge concern I suppose.

This is fun; I like reading other people's email. You wouldn't believe the email that durtywhore@mailinator.com was getting last night!

Nice, cool concept anyhow. I'll give it a shot. ONly concern is if it becomes too popular and you goto give a @mailinator.com address to someone they realize they're getting the brush off....

I typed in random addresses and got lots of spam on the server. Don't use this service if you really need the info to be private.

Not a bad idea. Plus if you're bored you can check other people's email
Just type in some random names, e.g. "bob"

man, I can't get anything right today...

As I was trying to say:
This sounds pretty insecure. What if I send important emails with sensitive super-secret information in them to mailinator?

Then you are a stupid-head. That isn't what this is for.

Give spamgourmet.com a try. Your mail is fowarded to whatever address you submit to them. You are able to specify how many emails you want to receive using this address. This is what I use all the time when signing up for free stuff online, but do not want their spam. I can specify to allow x number of emails from this person/company, then anything else that is sent to that addy goes out to never never land, never to bother me again.

spamgourmet is sweet and free and more private.

but I think this service will be good to take some load off spamgourmet if we all use this for emails that contains no information like passwords.
