I'm not sure if this has been posted here before, but I couldn't find it. This program apparently extends Windows XP's burning abilities to burn ISOs. I've tried it and it does work. I imagine the reason Microsoft didn't put it in is they didn't want you burning your Linux cds with their OS.

I do when I just need a few files burned. If I am doing a whole CD then I use Nero.

I don't believe you. I think you always use Nero.

I love ISORecorder. I've been using it for a long time. So much easier than loading up Nero, just right click and burn.

I have never used XPs burning app but my friend made a few music cds with it and they seemed to work fine.

blindwrite seems to be the best to create iso's, bin's, etc.
I like fireburner to burn bin files though

I use the builtin software for small files, but as with many of you I use Nero for larger stuff.

ive used xp a little. Its real easy, but if your doing anything over 50mb, its slow enough to not be worth it. go nero.

I don't even know how to use XP's built-in stuff.... lol (j/k)

microsoft is working on making the software even easier to use than click, drag, click "record here", voila

more to come...

anyway, ive used the xp stuff a couple times without a hitch, prefer nero really

It's very handy for computer w/o any burning software. I work for a computer store and when we demo systems for people I can burn a cd w/their picture on it or transfer files from floppy all w/the xp built in burning software. We don't have ezcd or nero on there for legal purposes. It's not the best by any means, but it's very simple and effective for digital pictures or other documents... Worth a look at least.

Nero comes bundled with most drives so I don't even bother trying all the various freeware packages, but here's another gratis burning program for those who like to experiment:

Well I use Explorer to burn files until I find a reason to install Nero. I hardly ever burn music CDs or ISOs or any other image so XP has worked just fine.

seriously though, not only does nero do everything, but it does it well. its a clean, well working program. its only a matter of time before they make newer versions that can cook us breakfast.

i do when i want to burn a quick music cd-rw, but for all other purposes, i use something else.

it's not as bad as it might seem, just drag the files you want to your burner's folder in windows explorer, hit burn contents to cd, click a few buttons and it's done, quite harmless. it's right there when you need it, don't need to open up a new app, you can even use the "send to" on the right click menu.

but, yea, no where near as much options or flexibility compared to a full featured burning software like nero or ezcd.
