I was in one for the first time in northern illinois a couple months ago and they gave out free ones to people, hot off the assembly line. I ate it, and bought 4 others for the ride home.

Needless to say I chucked them out the car window on the highway for some racoons to devour, they don't mind all the sugar. One and a half turned out to be enough sugar for the week. Perhaps if they had plain or some other less sugar-coated options, I'd be more willing to indulge.

Everyone goes crazy for just the plain glazed ones, but i prefer the other kinds. Sure the occasional glazed, especially hot off the press like they give you for a sample is nice, they do it better then any other, but i like stuff like the cream filled bismarks and rasberry jelly filled better. They do all their donuts better then any other i have tasted, might as well go for a little more then just glazed.

Those things are SOOOO good though, especially when they're so hot that the glazing is still liquid.

I just want to note here that when God wants doughnuts, he heads to Krispy Kreme when the light's on and gets 'em hot.

plain... my mom asked for plain once, like she asked for the donut before the glazing process.. you can actually do that if the staff is nice enough, but let me tell you, its not worth it.
