I tried this out just for kicks.
A day after they sent me the "confirmation email", I am suddenly getting swamped with spam. 20 messages in my bulk box overnight. Previously, I usually had only 1 or so a day, and they were usually things that I had signed up for.
Its a good thing that I used my yahoo acct (Yahoo has good spam blockers).

Beware of this unless you don't mind getting swamped with spam.
