It's a shame you guys got these to use on your bucket of bolts. I own a couple classic 1950s British sports cars and do use their products on a regular basis. I'd actually make good use of the stuff versus some of you guys...

I just got my free wipes yesterday (on my birthday best of all).

It ended up being the fullsize product, hardly what I'd call a sample...

Got my Insane Tire Shine today. Just another excellent Maguiars product, like all their others. Treat your ride!

Hope you have better luck with that Insane Tire Shine than I did; I bought one just to see if it's any better than many of the other "no sling" tire shine products. Maybe I just applied it wrong, but the stuff splattered my rims in no time...even worse than some of the other tire shine products I've tried. However, I'm pretty sure I didn't overdo the application, and I did let it sit there to dry overnight before driving off...and it still slung its' cr*p on my wheels. In all fairness to the product itself, though--it does leave a pretty good shine...but the tradeoff is not worth it.

I think I'll stick with Stoner's Trim Shine (they're the folks who make Invisible Glass window cleaner--the best non-commercial glass cleaning product I've ever used); although it doesn't produce as blinging a tire shine like some of the other products, it does at least make your tires "black"--i.e., a somewhat-duller but acceptable shine...and most importantly, no sling at all!

How did you apply the tire shine? I've always gotten those sponge appliers shaped specially for tires, black sponge w/ yellow base. I spray the tire shine onto the sponge and apply it to the tire that way. I've gotten good results from this method.

I've tried using those sponge applicators too...but in all fairness, I didn't use it w/ the Meguiars product. However, in a perfect world one shouldn't need to use the applicator as long as one controls the amount and spread of the stuff when using those "aerosol-type" products. Trigger- or pump-type products, I can understand where sponge applicators can come in handy...but aerosol shouldn't really need a sponge applicator...but still not a bad idea to use one nevertheless.

Now that I remember, I've tried Meguiar's Hot Shine tire product (aerosol application)...and it didn't sling as bad (both in amount of sling and color) as their Insane Shine product.
