The guys with the company I share an office with went to these TS2 seminars and got their versions of Windows 2003 Server for Small Business Premium and Virtual PC 2004 in the mail. The SBS version is "Not for Resale" and only includes 5 client access licenses. The Virtual PC 2004 was also "Not for Resale." I decided to pass on this when I found out you have to jump through hoops with Microsoft. Correct me if I'm wrong but you have to promote Microsoft wares on your website and let them know of one sucess story with the software during the next year. Something like that. I was also curious as to what "Not for Resale" meant. I got a look at the licenses that came with the software and it says the software is to be used for testing, evaluation, and demonstration only. I read that to mean it's pretty restricted. To me, that means I can't use the software for administrative or commercially purposes in my business. In other words, if I wanted to use the software to host my company website and have my employees use Exchange for email, I'd have to get a regular copy with the proper license. It sounds like a fully working demo that never expires.Originally posted by: imation930
Hi didn't check it yet. Today I went for the TouchPoint Series and the TS2 Event. Was anyone at the Boca Raton event there. They had a really nice breakfast in the morning. Everyone that attended TouchPoint Series event received a black bag with a free evaluation copy of small business server 2003 premium edition. Also they got a free voucher to go to New Horizons Tech Center for one free Microsoft Application Couse Training for one day. In the afternoon for the TS2 event they gave out a ticket to get a free small soda and free small bag of popcorn. It was held at a Regal Movie Theather. But I didn't like the popcorn one bit. It was way to salty. I got really dizzy and was not feeling well. So I decided to buy a bag of skittles. That make me even more sick though it would help but what a waste of 5 dollars. Anyways we got another bag from microsoft for attending the TS2 event. Also we got a One Plus Certificate for the software but all that is really left is the Office 2003 because they said the Virtual PC 2004 has only 1,000 left. They didn't check for anything for being a registered member or certified partner for the certificate but they told you in the slide show. So I got my suff and was leaving the place but I had to go to the bathroom so I wen back to the bathroom and had to pass the line where they were giving out the stuff and this lady was taking the evaluation sheets and the other 2 ladies were giving out the bags and the certificates. So I went to the bathroom and came out and to leave I had to pass te lady that was giving out the certificates and I passed her and she just through the certificate right in front of me so I just took it and left so now I got 2 certificates. Pretty Cool Huh. So how did everyone else go with there events. I am going to redeem the certificates for 2 copies of office 2003 professional becasue I sbscribe for the action pack which I got for 99 dollars in the summer when they had a promotion. Someone got it for me as a gift so it was free for me and I am getting virtual pc 2004 in the feburary update of the action pack.
worth 4 hrs of my time..yeah I suppose so.. <edit> redeemed my cert..only 2 choices..VirtualPC or Office 2003..(knowing there is a Basic,Standard, etc. on Office 2k3..starting prices are rather low but..the VirtualPC software is a known $ amt ..about $129..) ..gambled on selecting Office 2003..*BingO*order says Pro and MS' says Office 2k3 Pro is..that would definitely make it a HotDealMicrosoft Office Professional Edition

hmm... my pkg(in a very slim/flat yellow mailer/sleeve ) came today..a single disc for Office 2003 Pro..? A single disc for the Business Contact prog and a single disc of One Note..
Same here. Two of my CDs were scuffed up on the bottom due to the way they were packaged. I guess I'll have to install them now to verify they are readable.
As difficult as this seems to be for some to understand, NFR or Not-for-resale software cannot be sold legally.Originally posted by: BostonYuk

And by the way, it's great when you or someone gets a great deal. But it is totally disgusting and makes me want to beat the crap out of some of you that are totally and shamelessly greedy.

I'm retarded....
I'm standing out in the friggin cold, wondering where the @#$& everything is, as I'm on time and at the right place. So I go ask the people at the front of the theater.
Theater guy: "Uh, today's the 3rd. The Microsoft thing is on the 4th, tomorrow"
Me: "Oh, my bad. (walks back to car feeling retarded)"
Maybe I should've just started the line??
