Hmm, so let me guess, only the people who believe and act exactly as you believe they should are going to achieve this mystical salvation that you speak of. I love how people relate their personal beliefs as if they were reciting scientifically verifiable facts.
I guess I can just say that this would be a typical reply from a self-proclaimed "intellectual" un-believer...
How do I know? - Because I used to have the same argument.
Now I live a "faith-based" life b/c I have turned my life over to
Jesus by accepting Him as my savior. The good works I perform do not constitute my faith, that is only a sign of my obedience. Who leads my life is a measure of my faith.
Jesus Christ did come to this earth to save us from our sinful ways. He was not just a great moral teacher as some religions claim him to be (muslims), He was God living among us. There is no doubt about it -
Jesus said so Himself. (Which
if He lied about being the Son of God, then He would not have been a great moral teacher. - So that in itself debunks the Quran's limited analysis of Jesus.)
There is nothing
mystical about my salvation. (Star Wars is a movie, your life and your eternity is real.)
You want a scientifically verifiable fact?
Well, I'm guessing you mean you want to perform the
scientific method on the existence of
Jesus? Ok, but let's start with something even simpler. - The existence of our first President, George Washington.
First, let's observe his existence... Well, we can't do that because he doesn't live anymore. And we certainly can't reproduce his existence. So in the case of proving the existence of a person the scientific method falls short.
But President George Washington did live... Didn't he? - Well, of course, we have testimonies from many people that met him and spent time with him.
So what does that have to do with
Jesus? - Well if you do just a fraction of your homework, you would see that He died on the cross so that we would not be condemned by sin. And three days later he rose again!
That's the GOOD NEWS! - We serve a living God, as testified by
over 500 witnesses!
But...
If you want to debunk me or invalidate my views, I welcome you to do so.
But do your own research. You claim to intelligent, so don't just say "Because I heard..." Or "Just because..." - That's the simpleton's approach.
