I tried this before and it worked, they sent me a welcome packet with a nice offer. Pay $25 and get another year of Nat Geo magazine, so I signed up for the extra year.

I believe the part "COMPLIMENTARY subscription to National Geographic as well as provide you with a list of additional FREE magazines that you could
receive" states in IMHO that this National Geo sub is automatic and the other subs that show up are tailered to job titles. This is hows its worked for me from them..[

Me too. Got the welcome letter but no magazines. I e-mailed the magazine's customer service dept. They answered promptly and told me that a service bureau handled my subscription and did not submit it to NG. They gave me an 800 number to contact at the service bureau. The guy at the service bureau said he would fix the problem, but 2 months later still no magazines. Time to follow up again. (I didn't keep the 800 number so will have to contact NG again.)

How do I get something more along the lines of FHM, Maxim and Playboy?

National Geographic sub. never started for me either. I started getting Playboy and Gear two months ago. NG is a no show... and I can't get it to show up now either.

I wonder if this was a scam to get our personal info for more spam. I won't bite again but ymmv................................................

Here is what it should say when you click on the link.
"To claim your 1-year subscription to National Geographic magazine (and to find out what other FREE magazines you could receive), simply complete the form below."

It will also show a picture of the ng mag in the right corner.

I had the exact same problem.

I tried it and it offered me a bunch of boring technical magazines. Then there was a long questionaire which I couldn't be bothered filling out.

For those having problems getting past the first page: perhaps they filter out email addresses like hotmail, etc.

In the past 6-8 months, I filled survey atleast 5 times and I have received only FHM magazine.
