I highly doubt they'd just stop the free version, which has been around for quite some time. I've been using the beta far a while and it's been good with no problems. I think the biggest feature for the average person is that scheduler/auto update is on by default. I think that feature alone has turned off alot of people about version 6 (since they didnt know an auto update feature existed).
Grrr...I never noticed the license date either, but I just checked mine (ver. 6 updated this morning) and the license date is 1-31-06--so I think you may be right about that. Though, I hope this isn't the end of the free version.
