I switched from Firefox to Opera as well. Tabbed browsing's the way to go and being able to come back to your previous session if your window accidentally gets closed is a nice touch as well. I'm actually running build #7498 of version 8.0...no problems here!
I also just made my 1000th post!!
Firefox has tabbed browsing. It can save your session with a plugin too.
But anyway, time for me to try Opera again. I haven't used it since version 6 or so.

When did they start charging for Opera so that you need a free license? I've haven't used it for like 10 years.

I hear people raving about the tabbed browsing, but FF has it too and someone mentioned saved sessions which I guess is also available with an FF plugin. Is there any major difference betweem the 2...sort of how there's a difference between FF & IE? If it's just a preference thing and no added functionality, then I wont bother changing.
Yeah, although I'm just glad Opera 8 finally launched today. It's been on their home page, "Opera 8 launching soon!" for the past 2 weeks.Originally posted by: OCedHrt
Hmm this code is for Opera 7 and not 8? Darn, wanted to give 8 a try.

I'm confused. One can download Opera for free at Download.com. What is the upside to the German offering??? Registration costs something???
Edit: there also appears to be a java version for free??? Firefox is great. Always looking for good new software. Tried Opera many years ago when it was hailed as the "paired-down, speediest" browser, but went back to Netscape at the time.
