Back(way back) when i was a tech I did some work at a chicken plant . Now I had worked for years inside the 2nd largest oil refinery in the world,along with several other nasty places(prisons,ect).The chicken plant was hands down the worst place ever . Puke would get halfway up my throat before I could choke it down . The stink of dead birds and rotten eggs was enough to run me out of there . I had to burn my clothes and shower three times before I felt clean . And about 200 people work there 365 days a year . Still eat chicken .

Back when I was in college in the early 1990s, some of the radical animal rights folks blew up part of a college building. A professor there was studying ways to help minks survive in the wild. Of course, the research required her to keep caged minks that she used for her analysis and tests. The idiot animal rights folks blew up her lab and destroyed 10+ years of reseach on how to SAVE minks.

In addition to the bombing, the "terrorists" spray painted on the wall of the building "We're coming for the dolphins next". (The college, Michigan State University, had no dolphin research and is 700 miles from the nearest ocean.) Freakin' geniuses.

It was her body. She wants to mess with it, it's her business. I'm not a big animal rights activist, but for people who are there is an easy counterpoint to your arguement.

He wasn't talking about what she did to her body, he was talking about the thousands of animals (tens/hundreds of thousands?) that were tortured and killed so that we could develope the technology to give her bigger breasts. Which she supported by buying them.

Well, as much as I dislike vigilantes and eco-terrorist, I hate mis-information even more.

While it may have been possible that the type of research you mention was going on, the primary target of that attack was a professor that was not only in the back pocket of the Mink Farmers Research Foundation, he also had been awarded federal grants to also use his mink farm for toxic experiments involving the forcefeeding of PCP?s, dioxins and other industrial pollutants to captive mink. This was no mink love-fest for sure.

Also, it was ?WE WILL BE BACK FOR THE OTTERS? not dolphins.

Again, please don't misconstrue this as support for these people, I will say that fur for the sake of fur is pretty stupid and wasteful.
