Here's the scoop y'all:
I've been using broadpoint for about a year now and here's how it works. Alchemae is right on you being limited to 2 hours a month.
You dial the toll-free number & enter your access code & number you wish to call. It then starts to play an ad which lasts about 15-30 sec. After each ad, it gives you the option to listen to another ad, contact the advertiser for more info, or to place your call. For each ad you listen to, you accumulate 2 minutes for that particular call.
For example, if I listened to 10 ads, then placed my call, I would have 20 min. available for that call *only*.
One caveat - make sure the person you want to talk to is available first. Because if you accumulate time, and the call is connected but the person can't talk (or is answered by an answering machine/voice mail), then any unused time is lost. If the call doesn't connect & you hang up, you don't lose that time.
I've also had it happen where I've accumulated my time, and then for some reason, the call doesn't go through (no ringing, no nothing). That can be frustrating too, but it's only happened a couple of times.
It's a good way to supplement monthly LD calls if you make a lot of LD calls.
Good luck,
