I think you can get a free account with ripplehost.com still. 50 mb of space and 500 megs of xfer. Hosting and e-mail. I have the paid account (all of $5/yr) which has been working for about a month. I use it for my Pop3 based email as well (e-mail space comes out of your total disk space). I think, for a free account, you would just have to come up with some lame webpage with a link to ripplehost.com on it and post it. After that, the free account is yours. Recently, the free server has had issues, but the paid for one has been reliable.
So far, it seems more legit than cyberwings... not that that says much. As far as the support aspect of it goes, there's a forum. The admin doesn't consider answering questions in the support forum a priority nor does alan provide the most comprehensive answers.
