free program that converts mp3 to wma?

I use to be able to do this with winamp but it just updated and now I can't. Is there anything free out there?

I think Microsoft has a free pack on wmplugins that includes an MP3->WMA converter.

wma just sounds better to me. i got dbpoweramp but they only offer a trial version, it's not free?

if wma sounds better to you than mp3 if the source is CD, then fine but what you're doing is essentially copying a copy, which is bad because the mp3 has already lost sound quality and the wma you make from it will lose more

With lossy codecs a copy of a copy cannot possibly sound better.

The fact is, when I convert mp3 to wav it sounds better even though you would say the source is compressed. Then converting it to wma sounds better. I just know what my ears tell me.
