Remember buy.com marks up the price of every item a few bucks to cover shipping every time they have "free" shipping. So have the items in your cart before it takes effect and I think it'll stay at the price when you put it in your cart.

Andrey, do you know if free shipping still applies for items that are backordered? I'm need to get myself a new IBM Deskstar; unfortunately it is out of stock right now. And does anyone know if putting the item in the basket trick work? I think the price changes would still take into effect.

Yes, the trick with the basket works flawlessly. I've done it several times myself. The same goes with any coupon. Put it in your basket as soon as it comes out and it will stay there forever! Even after expiration date, so you can save yourself some money if you don't plan on buying anything while the coupon is out
