It's okay, I'm sure you'll have other opportunities.

Was hoping for a screensaver but no luck. They do have cd/dvd labels, iron-ons, lemonade stand items, stationery, postcards and posters. Thanks!

Perhaps, my antivirus settings are too sensitive but when I downloaded the instructions for the post cards it warned me of a malicious script. It was not the standard warning when downloading an *.exe. So BEWARE.

Recently, I had lots of 'fun' removing WToolA.exe and all its morphing from my daughter's laptop. We think it came inbedded in something called Dash Search. Its a real nasty type of spyware that opens up back doors to your system. It looks like it may have been first reported around May 11, 2004. The antispyware forums offer some help but the standard 'cleaning tools' don't work on this one yet. It looks like they do but when you reboot its comes back and morphs...lovely. Zone Alarm would flag WToolA.exe requesting access to 146.82.109.210. I have not looked to see where or what that IP address was.

Anyway, with the warning I got with the HP Shrek stuff, I thought a 'heads up' warning might be helpful.

OK that was disappointing. I hate when its not clearly labeled what it is, makes me have to look at it. Then when I look at it I get dissappointed. Its like a cruel joke.

This is Downloads of Pictures and stuff for printing!

Maybe we could write a notification script so that you wouldn't have to browse at all. Then maybe we could add filters so that we could anticipate the hot deals to your taste, and eliminate the ones that disappoint you. And in phase 2, we could design a way to just have companies read your mind and ship out the products that you telepathically indicate you want.

OR,

Maybe you could just appreciate this forum and quit your whining.

Well, yeah, I know Jokersmoker is the man, in fact has been the AT Hot Deals "Man of the Year". But hey, you also have to admit his posts don't have many details...

Some newbie posts something without details, and they get a brow-beating and lecture. Jokersmoker posts his typical "Text Enjoy", and he is regaled with praise!

I, for one, would not mind seeing more details in an initial post--it saves time for other hot deals, and prevents tons of AT'ers from hammering a website just to see what Jokersmoker is pointing to. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I realize Jokersmoker doesn't have to contribute anything at all...

Ironically, the vcd/dvd labels would probably only be used for pirating movies...

Remember in school theories:

Theory: Prove A=C
if A = B and B=C then A=C

Theory: Prove that HP supports piracy

HP = VCD/DVD labels
VCD/DVD labels = supports piracy
HP = supports piracy

sweet

You're using that "equals" sign awfully fast and loose there.

Your syllogism would read:

P1) HP provides DVD labels
P2) Everyone who provides DVD labels supports piracy
C): HP Supports piracy

Premise 1 is a fact. Premise 2 is a very tenuous value judgement.

To me, the problem isn't that jokersmoker doesn't live up to the standards that newbies are subjected to. To me, the problem is that we should all appreciate someone taking the time to post a hot deal. Would it be nice if more detail was provided? Sure. But if they take the time to tell me about it, I'll be damned if I'm going to criticize their effort.
