The coupon is not for a $4 lunch, it gives a little over a $2 lunch. Believe me, it is far from Free and franchisees DO lose money on this deal. It will be stopped because when you give some people a good deal, they tend to over abuse it.
I'm not whining at all. I just get mad when I keep seeing people say that "we still make money" and it costs "nothing". It is a very childish and naive mentality that arrives at that conclusion.

The one behind Albertsons by Costco. They stopped taking them some time over the weekend. It worked last Wednesday, but when I went in yesterday (Sunday), they had a sign up saying they didn't take them anymore. Does the Calle Real one still take them?

they took them at least on Saturday. Also the one downtown across from the Granada was taking them Saturday.

I think the store I'm going to is accepting them until the 10th, at least that's what it sounded like from the 2 guys talking while they made my sub.

also i did not mean that the soda was FREE... i was trying to imply that when weighing the overhead of soda foutain vs. the profit... that the soda overhead is moot.

i am one of the managers at a food court at UCLA (i am a student), and we are told not even to worry about soda. essentially if someone wants one we sell it to em, however if they get pissed that a soda isn't included in their meal, we just give it to em.

also during the summer we give all freshman unlimited soda all summer... no one cares. soda fountains aren't really that expensive.

I always reluctantly use the self serve soda dispensers after seeing a news story about how dirty these things are. People just don't seem to wash their hands and they found traces of urine and fecal material from swabs that they took from these dispensers.

You can probably do a swab of ANY public door handle, drinking fountain, etc. and get the same results. People are just plain dirty. It doesn't matter how much an individual cleans himself there is always some other dirty person soiling the world for him.

Totally unrelated but I have a friend who does fast food restaurant maintenance and upgrading. His crew goes in and either tears out the existing equipment and installs new cookers/fryers/shake machines or they clean existing equipment. The sh!t he tells me about finding IN the machines will make your skin crawl. I'm not going to go into details but lets just say don't ever buy a shake from ANY fast food restaurant. Unless you can see the cooking surface and verify its state don't eat food from it.

Someone modified the sign on the door to say that with a black magic marker. It was removed after about an hour of people in line laughing it up.

really? i only saw the july 10 one. the july 31 would extend the fun. i just hit up the new berkeley location for the first time today with 5 other co-workers in my lab. they just opened and i think theyve been inundated with these new coupons. poor guys.
