Free space on disk drive is incorrect

I just transferred a folder and all the files (3 gig worth) to another drive to free up some space but the drive still shows full. The drive only has two folders left and they add up to 29 gig. The drive capacity shows as 32 gig. Whats going on??

What OS? Any chance you copied and then 'deleted' the files via Windows explorer? (e.g. are they actually still in the Recycle Bin?)

OS is WinXP Pro. The files were definitly moved (not copied) and I've cleaned the recycle bin.

Is this your primary drive? Could systemrestore have grabbed some space now that it freed up? You can check in My Computer\Properties

It is drive D:. Only used for data.

SystemRestore will still (by default) use some space on each drive, is it turned off on D:

(can you tell I'm running out of ideas? )

I went to My computer/properties and the space showed up. I went back to explorer and it was there. I don't know what happened, but thanks for the help.

Have you tried a disk cleanup on your disk that you're hoping to free space up on?
