Hypocrisy would be applying a different standard for arbitrary reasons. "Is this person someone who does good or is it someone who rationalizes away evil acts?" is a consistent standard that leads to different results. You may not agree that the judgement is correct, but you cannot claim that it isn't consistent.

Yet again we have someone confusing balance for fairness. You are not obligated to treat different sides of an issue the same to remain fair, that is what balance is. If I said that vaccines and kids with polio were equally good that would be balanced, but polio is terrible and vaccines aren't. If I said that actually, a poke with a needle and a slight risk of slight muscular discomfort is way better than polio, that would be fair even if it isn't balanced.

More than any of the misinformation, I think Fox's most negative effect was conflating the two.
