I got Splinter Cell "free" just by buying a video card, too.

I used to subscribe to Fileplanet, and about 1/4 of the time, my subscription login didn't work. So, when the hottest downloads were available, I could frequently not download them immediately. Every single support request for solving this went unsolved, or (rarely) got a "It should work now" reply. Of course, all of these responses came 2-3 days later, by which time I could have downloaded whatever I wanted via a free account. Since then, I've gone to fileshack for my paid downloading subscription.
