Can you tell me why I can't see the "edit" buttin on my screen? I normally use Netscape Navigator so I just tried opening up Internet Explorer just in case that was the problem and the last button is STILL "Bottom"......no "edit" button. What's going on?

That didn't help either. Still no edit buttin. I can't be the only one having this problem

I dunno. I've never had my edit button go missing. A couple possibilities that I can think of off hand. One, the mod took it away? I doubt it but I guess its possible. Two, there might be a problem with your login. I suggest posting to forum issues or something. Maybe someone there can help. If you are a susbscriber you can always use that technical support email thing.

Its not showing you as being logged in, make sure to click on the 'login' button in the top right. After you login, check for the Edit button next to the Bottom button.

That was it. I have never logged in first. When I post (which isn't that often)I just click "reply". That takes me to a page where I have to enter my user name and password and type my response. After that it takes you back to the thread, but the "edit" button does not appear. If you log in when you first enter the forum, the "edit" button appears.
It is a bit late, but I am going to go back and edit my posts.

Follow up: I went back to my original post to try to edit it and a message pops up which says that I can't "edit it twice". I guess that since the Mod edited it before I found out how to, no further edits are possible.

Problem with this thread is that it was DESIGNED to push hot buttons. Yeah, it's free, but is this really a hot deal for a computer-oriented forum? Not to be down on another well-known hot deals place, but this is something I would have expected to see in the freebies section of WatFallet, not here.

I don't know about all the rhetoric in this thread but here is what I know. Israel is a democratic country. There are no democratic Islamic countries, not even the most "moderate" islamic nation. None of them offer freedom. None of them allow women to have anything near equality. I would say they are completely depressed. The people are mostly very poor, except a very few members of the ruling class. The ruling class controls their people with strict rules and swift punishment. This includes the palenstinian authority. The leaders care nothing about their people, only preserving their status quo. I feel bad for the average middle-eastern person, but I can not support their nations or their leaders. They promote fear, hate, and violence.

Well said Tarpon6 and I would like to add that buy our unconditional support of these governments and leaders and giving them billions in taxpayer dollars (which the general people of those countries like Egypt donot see a dime of) so that we can achieve our goals frankly is not and cannot be the right course of action. These countries are not democracies because we keep on supporting and helping these tyrant rules stay in power best example would be the army rules of Pakistan and also all the major networks aired the plea of the women on Afghanistan but the women in Saudi Arabia are not treated any better but no one seems to air a report about the women of Saudi Arabia. I donot understand why the same thing can be undemocratic and unacceptable for one but acceptable for others. Do you think the women and people of Saudi Arabia donot want democracy just as bad as the people of Iraq but we will have a democratic iraq but not a democratic saudi arabia or Pakistan or every other muslim country in the middeeast.

It only pushes "hot buttons" if you let it push "hot buttons." No one is ever forced to get angry over a thread. If yellowfiero had made the link "American flag" rather than "American/Israel flag," people would still be complaining about it. Some people are always looking to start trouble, and they will do it with the smallest nit-pick.

If you don't like it, if you're not interested, or if it makes you angry, bypass the thread. I do it all the time. And this forum has long featured "non-computer" items. Looking through the threads, I see cheap cigarettes, Xbox, Gamecube, half-price sushi, deals on new Hondas and Hyundais, camcorders, TVs, golf balls, ... are you upset with those threads, too?

I seriously doubt that yellowfiero's a troll. If he was, he'd have been banned a long time ago for stirring up trouble. Few forum moderators have the stomach for trolls these days. I for one appreciate the time and effort he puts into this and other forums.

This is going OT rather fast...

i think aaaano has already said it, but the reason why these countries have such undemocratic rule is that the US SUPPORTS these regimes, for the simple reason of maintaining control of oil prices. If even one of thse countries were to suddenly have a revolution and turn to democracy, realize that they don't have to be reamed by US Trade policy, and actually use oil profits for infrastructure and social programs to build a prosperous nation, the US would be STEAMED.

Many of the "terrorists" were Saudis. Guess which middle eastern country the US ISN'T going after?
