And an irrelevant comment: I dont know about Berkely or USF, but here on the east coast CUNY is about as radical as you can get. After 9/11 a professor referred to suicide pilots as "freedom fighters", and on just about every floor of my college you see a poster that says "Why you should become a Socialist". The words make me nautious, but this kind of display freedom of speech makes me proud to be in this "oppressive capitalist consumer culture oil greedy military" land

Since when is a free deal not hot if you happen not to agree with the site's views? A hot deal is hot based upon the deal itself and the validity (i.e. if the site is legit and not fraud, if the site doesn't look like its going to spam/junk email you, etc) of it. At least it should be IMHO. I haven't very many logical reasonable reasons for declining this if you want a free pin. So I'll toss one in. I don't want to get junk mail, which might very well increase if I asked for this pin. Now if it was being handed out at some even somewhere I'd probably pick one up.

To be blunt, you people need to STOP TURNING THIS INTO SOME POLITICAL BS THREAD. Yes, the site it is from might be a propaganda site. If you don't believe in their propaganda, then DON'T. Just say to yourself "eh, it's propaganda, but hey it's free" plus since they're spending money to give it to you, if you don't believe in it you can drain their funds by getting a free one then ripping it apart or using it in a collage of some sort.

If you DO believe in what they believe, then it's free too, go order one and show what you believe.

Finally, as for the idiots arguing over who is at fault for what, it's quite simple:

"Nobody comes out of a war clean."

OK? SO STOP FRIGGIN ARGUING. THERE IS NO SIMPLE RIGHT OR WRONG ANSWER, YES OR NO. QUIT IT BECAUSE YOU ARE GETTING NOWHERE WITH THIS GARBAGE.

Although I could write a book on this conflict(many have), I will stay away from the political aspect for now. It's simply too big to go into on a moderated forum with homework to do before tomorrow.

About the pin, though, this is not a hot deal.

My point: If you want, you have been able to, for the last couple weeks, been able to get "*insert name of your favorite politician here* for congress/governor/mayor" pins, signs, etc. The fact that you can get them for free does not make them Deals. This is, may I remind you, a computer forum, dealing mostly in computer/geek related items.
A political statement that very few would make who:

A) know there is a difference between Jew and Zionist and
B) aren't blinded by anger by losing someone in 911

is not a hot deal.

As a previous poster said: You get the pin for free, but at what cost?

Every attempt I have made at trying to undo this mess has backfired. Someone will always copy and paste what I say and make some negative comment. All I can say from the bottom of my heart is that I am sorry I responded in a negative way to your post. When you reacted to it I could see the handwriting on the wall. When I read the rules for posting it clearly stated that negative posts about hot deals were prohibited. So I was wrong to make that fateful six word response. If there were a way to edit one's posts, I would have done it a long time ago. I know that I said relatively little in a negative way compared to some of the statements which are coming out in this seemingly endless thread, but I feel responsible even though I suppose, as someone pointed out I should have known better.
Since it is making me sick to see this deteriorate even further all I can say is I am sorry I crapped on your thread and "Shalom" to you.
