I dont know is it worth it? I can get one through comcast for 9.00 a month with hardware. I am considering this tivo deal though.

it's actually 12.95 per month

but get it for lifetime of the box, that's $300.

If you get lifetime, you can always switch your cable provider, either to dish, cable or even on air.
That alone, you get payback within 2 years (approx)

if you go with comcast, you are stuck with them, even though you can terminate their service..

yes but the only HD box Tivo makes is proprietary to DirecTV systems. it's soooooo retarded -- they're losing SOOOOO much money by not selling it as a standalone. i know a ton of people who would buy it in an instant if it worked with cable systems.

Edit: This appears to be incorrect repost from last week, when the unit WAS free with 2 rebates: 123331 and 117308. The rebate 123331 has expired 4/23, so the deal is $100 AR now.

I greatly prefer the Comcast DVR. Record 2 shows at once or record and pause a second show. Plus, it records in HD in case you have a HD set. I've had a TiVo and Replay and I prefer the Comcast box to either of those.

It WAS a deal from 4/21-4/23 which is the dates the CC rebate were for. Now there's just the TiVo rebate. Link to the thread about the deal when it was active. I snagged one (we're now a 2 TiVo family.)

I was thinking that maybe there was a new deal. Apparently there was another MIR yesterday for a free TiVo. I think that some people are using the MIR from before they changed the end date to 4/23.

The original post was locked so i reposted it. There were 2 rebates when i originaly posted this thread both for $100 dollars. I got this deal from a certain "over weight" website.

I thought maybe that's what you were going off of but I'm not really sure I want to risk it on a rebate that isn't a sure thing and that rebate that got adjusted isn't even close to being a sure thing.

Yeah im not sure about this rebate, also i can get Hardware and Tivo "like" sevice for 5 extra dollars a month . Comcast cable here i come.
