So. Cal. climate zone is pretty forgiving as to when you can plant tomatoes.
This years crop is all from what birds have redistributed throughout my yard.
I have brought them back to the garden proper and it should be interesting to
see what i get. I know one little guy i transplanted doesn't look to be a tomato
at all, more like 'hemp'.

How do you know you will get free seeds? All I see is a "join the tomato club" signup page. Nice to see that they are heirloom.

I thought the same thing when I was signing up . . . but then I went to their homepage and it says that they will send you free sample seeds when you join their email list

They should be good next year. Tomato seeds look a lot like a sesame seeds covered with a velvety hair-like carpet.
