Is this free only while it is a beta?

I hate taking the risks of being a product tester then having to buy the product once the bugs are worked out.

It's been beta for months. I don't know if they will actually charge for it when it goes gold, but it's already bug-free as far as I can tell.

I downloaded this - thanks for OP!

But - it keeps disabling itself in Outlook, even after reboot, and numerous times restarting outlook and the antispam itself.

Anyone else having this problem?

Outlook is hanging and can hang even after reboots (that's a documented MS problem). Use ctrl/alt/delete and click the "Processes" tab, scroll down and look for "OUTLOOK.exe", highlight and click "End Process." Restart Outlook and the TrendMicro Antispam toolbar should be there.

The link worked for me. I detest beta-testing software (they get your services for free, then require you to pay for the product) but my spam level is intolerable. Worse yet, it's no longer porn-type spam but old-age type (Viagra, Canadian pills, etc.). The travails of getting older.

The Outlook link (second one) worked for me, but they require a lot of personal info first. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

I've only used it for a few days now, but I'm pretty impressed. Only once (the second time I used Outlook with this installed) did it miss a spam). It's definately gratifying to do a send/receive in Outlook, see a dozen spams come in, and then have Trend delete them right away before you can do anything.

beta testing has mutual benefits. as you said, software companies get basically free testing. however you wouldn't be beta testing unless it's
1. either very useful to you and there's no better alternatives
2. you find the software interesting and want to try it out

for example, many of google's products are still in beta, but people use them cause they fall into one of the above categories.

Also, I would highly recommend Spambully.
I have tried and tested a few products before recommending SpamBully. SpamBully was by far the best. It works with Exchange accounts, that is very important for us. The very first time you start Spam Bully, its Bayesian spam filter will learn from your own personal email habits, identifying good and spam messages. Every time you download your email, Spam Bully will make sure good emails make it to your Inbox. Spam emails are sent to the "Spam" folder. Emails SpamBully may have difficulty classifying, go to a special "Unsure" folder. You can always adjust emails in these folders by using the Spam and Not Spam buttons in the SpamBully toolbar. Tons of features and worth a look.

Thunderbird ftw Nice find though, wish I had known about that before I switched from Outlook to T-bird. Would've been very helpful!

I really like thunderbird but I find that the "agressive" spam filter marks too many normal messages as spam. The lighter settings don't catch enough. I've had it "learning" for about 3 months now and it's still not to my satisfaction. How are people faring with trend micros?
