I got the same message - backordered and will ship when available. I can see how that happens when people order more than 1. -- I checked with my credit card company, nothing has been charged yet.

There you go: someone ordere 40 here, 10 there...

When someone tells you dont do something, they usually have a reason.

!??!?!?! Can they charge us a different price than what we ordered for? Is that against the law? They better not charge me 100$ for this thing.

What your mother tells you "When something is too good to be true, it certainly is.", she usually has a reason.

When are you going to learn?

My order status page still shows $0.00, backordered....

**I drained my credit card and transferred the money to a money market account in case they decide to charge me the full price. They would obviously get denied.

**EDIT** - Just got the cancel letter. Damn, too bad the deal was killed early.

How are they "NOT-Responsible"?

Why they aren't responsible:

While individual cases may vary, it's a stretch to think that they would offer such a ludicrous "deal" and most courts of law would say as such.

Why they are "not responsible"?

Look around, and then into the mirror, see how many "responsible" individuals you can find. This is the new American culture, live with it.

They're probably not held responsible because a third party web developer actually does the posting of their web pages. So legally, they can say it was not their fault because they gave the information to the developer and the developer screwed up. In any case, there's no excuse for not seeing that a 194 dollar package had a price of 0. Somebody dropped the ball big time.

i forgot to mention, i had 2 other different items on the order too (low-cost items) and opted for the overnite shipping. maybe that makes a difference. i think many people only ordered the zip and nothing else. if any other deals like this come up i would suggest throwing something else in the order too and take overnite if they have it.....and only order one, maybe two....taserT

I never received a cancellation email but they tried to charge my CC the 100bucks luckyly I didn't have enough left on the cc to take the order. So I called them and told me it was cancelled.....Then why did they try to charge my cc??? Anyway I called the CC company and told them it was an unauthorized and they said ok. Thank you discover

That's probably a good idea as long as the other item is something you really wanted, or else you might wind up with an expensive box of paper clips (or whatever cheap item Outpost offers). I once ordered a Palm and a package of styluses from Buy.com overnighted. The next day I got this huge box full of peanuts and small package of styluses. They had inadvertantly sent the Palm ground. Needless to say I had my overnight shipping charge refunded.

Your should rather have them charge the full amount without your consent, get it shipped, and then dispute with the cc.

Why, because these people didn't steal anything yet. Nothing shipped, nothing charged (may be charged but refunded). Yes the price is definitely a typo, but before outpost said so, nobody know for sure. Remember all the free stuff you get from CompUSA this weekend? And the totally free game pad from Staples? So a 0.00 price on a $200 merchandise is not totally unreasonable. Now, I went to Staples, got the game pad to the cashier and paid 0.00 was buying. On the other hand, you walk out with a game pad without going to the cashier first is stealing. Can you now tell the difference.
