Thanks for posting the ZDNET article. I didn't think this was a scam, but now I will definitely do this.

I'm still not convinced. This is not really a ZDNet article, but rather a hardware bloggger's opinion posted on ADNet. The guy that wrote it also runs the PC Doctor blog, so you would think he would know what he's talking about, but nothing in his blog indicates he knows any more than what we know on this "offer".

Yeah, I guess I didn't clarify that it is a blog.

If this is legit, I find it interesting that the site is registered to some guy in an apartment in London. And he's got a GOOGLE email address (hint: MS hates Google).

Site seems to be responding now, but after signing in and selecting 3 webcasts, I get this: "We?re sorry, your session may have expired".

Edit: Got one step further, name/address, but then it booted me with the same message.

Edit: Site is much more responsive, but still giving the same session expired garbage.

FWIW - my friend at MS seems to think its legit - but has not heard about it (not that MS would tell all of their employees in a mass email or anything, they get discounts on the software anyways.

I signed up and got a confirming email with my 3 webcast picks. I then picked the first link, and it loaded up and played. When it was over I clicked the second link but get a webpage which says that I am currently watching the first one and I can either pick new or continue?
Same if I watch the second and then try and pick the third!
No matter what I do, I can't seem to get credit for watching the webcasts? I've seen my first and second picks twice through and the third once!
So my question, how to get confirmation that the 3 videos were watched?

Everytime I login it shows me as "Guest", then when going through the motions, it says my session has expired.

It's good we have the suspicous types here to check out this info.

If I remember correctly, you don't need to provide a SSN if you aren't greedy [ie: don't choose both rewards] - so this should help reduce the chance of id theft.

In this day and age, have a credit monitoring system in place would help protect you in case this is an ID theft scam [more information being posted is proving that it should be legit].

If this is a scam - it's a pretty good setup. However, I wouldn't be surprised this is legit - nice little tactic to get Windows Vista to more consumers [I for one can't afford the outrageous cost for the upgrade]

After I clicked each webcast link, i received an email asking me to take a survey on what I watched. I've received 2/3 emails so far, still waiting on the last.
