How long until I get surveys?

Of the three I did, I was only emailed a survey for one of them. However, the link in the email is the same one as the link displayed at the end of the webcast, I just used those.

You do not have to complete the surveys. They are only for Microsoft's feedback on the webcasts. They are not a requirment for receiving the free software.

My status changed from "Pending" to "Complete" without having to do the surveys. It was approximately 24 hours later.

I know this is a stupid question... I work at Best Buy and although we obviously sell MS products, would I be considered working for a partner? I'm thinking so but would appreciate it if someone could tell me I'm wrong and why. Thanks.

Are you sure of this? The survey's even have a question asking if you would like the free gift.

One Hour each and eligible is owning or working in business although I doubt they will verify because that would take to long.

More specifically, eligibility is you must be employed in a company that is not a Microsoft Partner or in MSDN. Age restrictions apply, etc: http://www.powertogether.com/OfferingDetails.aspx

Webcasts can be downloaded instead of viewed. The ones I DLed were avg 15MB. The site says "In-Progress" for about an hour before you can move on to the next webcast.

Is the Vista link dead? Because I've been trying for the past hour and a half, and after I click the link on the main page firefox says the connection was interrupted. The weird part is that the office 2007 link works just fine. I hope they didn't stop the Vista offer!

While obviously intended for IT pros, it was not and is not one of the requirements. There are still only four requirements listed anywhere on the site:

1. Over 18
2. Resident of the US
3. Not employed by a MS partner or part of MSDN
4. Watch three videos

That's it. Even if they wanted to, I can't imagine how much money they would have to spend to verify credentials of 30,000 people. It'll be a lot cheaper to simply give away another 100,000 copies.

yeah, the vista server is still down as of now, hopefully they don't tell people that have watched the webcasts that they messed up and that basically the carrot was dangled a little longer than the dangler could afford.

Vista server is up again. Just no new signups, although if you signed up and selected the three sessions you still should be OK. Office is still available for registration. Probably won't be available for long, so anyone interested should register and select three sessions real soon.

I should be mroe specific... vsd.powertogether.com is still down. I've been talking to Mark Brown over at c9 who seems to be one of Microsoft's main fellas handling this and it looks like they are going to make good on anyone who has gotten in and has watched everything.

He said that it will take a while for their e-mail servers to catch up with the load so just sit tight.
