Just a "heads up" on this. eCost's ResellersRatings are kind of, if not actually, low. In addition, most of the recent complaints deal with the lack of getting their rebate. That makes it hard to jump right in on this. I still would almost jump on this just to have an extra unit around but I have to hold off. Does anyone have any other recent experience with them; especially with rebates?

WTF is that??? Oh, OK. Just another name for ground shipping fee. That's enough for me, this is a no-go. Sorry and I don't mean to crap on this, but this deal has to be bogus. 50/50 whether you get the rebate (at best) and there is no such thing as free shipping because they are charging you the "Handling & Processing Fee" of $3.95. Gee, even USPS Priority is only $3.85. What would ground shipping by either parcel post or media mail cost them?? A clue; a WHOLE LOT LESS

My direct apologies to you Jay as I feel your intent was probably good. I am just kind of a stickler for sites doing what they say they wil do. You found a good deal to post but I just have severe reservations that it will work out for folks that try it. Unfortunate as I was hoping to pick up an extra unit for the test machine.
At the very least, viewing kenja's post, it's a cinch that the FAR is not going to happen. $3.95 is a heck of a price for the unit though; if you get the rebate. I wish you luck.

Nothing when I searched on "ecost", searching on "usb" there is a more recent thread and this more informative one.

I don't think trying for two different rebates on the same order would fly. Otherwise, I'd try for the "free" Viking 32MB USB drive also.

Anyone know if this Syntax thing is any good? I know it's FAR, but I'd rather not take the chance of not getting my rebate if this thing sucks since I've heard ecost isn't all that great, especially with rebates.
