<< well i downloaded and burned the FreeBSD version 4.3....so it will then load like linux...i'll do it from cdrom set as boot option in the bios...then it will like linux install its own bootloader that will give me the boot option to boot into win also...win is on c: (d: is win storage)and i have created two swap partitions adn a ext2 partition for FreeBSD
and yes its great to not have to pay for it but better then that it makes me feel more like i am part of it...that make sense >>
Paying for it is fine (I am subscribed to get EVERY x86 FreeBSD release even though I havent used it in a long time), but paying $200+ for an OS is what I find ridiculous. But anyhow, FreeBSD uses a different filesystem than ext2fs. I believe it uses FFS like the other BSDs. And if you want you can use the FreeBSD bootloader, if not I can help you setup lilo. Make sure you have a linux boot disk if you want to see if the FReeBSD bootloader will auto detect everything correctly. If you end up not liking it or it doesnt work you will probably want to go back to lilo. I actually have no clue right off how to edit FreeBSD's bootloader, I never had to. It picked up Win98se, linux, and OpenBSD without problems.
