Interesting. Just viewed my credit reports for the first time ever using the annualcreditreport.com link. You can't get the actual score #, but it lets you see all your open credit, any negative information, credit checks, etc...

Pretty useful.

Secondly, they already have a disclaimer on their front page under the heading Important Information that explains that you can get your government-mandated free credit report from annualcreditreport.com, and it includes a link. Anyone who goes to Freecreditreport.com and doesn't know what they're getting into is an idiot.


This whole CARD act was idiotic. I'm probably going to have to cancel at least my two oldest credit cards because of annual fees that never would have existed without the CARD act. Thanks a lot, assholes (congress). If they want to do something useful, they should pass a law that prevents my grandmother from forwarding email spam to me.

I don't like this, or see the need. At what point do we stop putting disclaimers on every market that exploits the stupid or lazy?
