Did you even read the artical? This isn't a church this is 4 million dollar home... Hey, maybe they can do a blessing on my 6 acre ranch and I won't have to pay any taxes??? I can call it a parsonage too!!! Tho, no bible reading or religious BS allowed on my property... Bible thumping is OK! You know every time you open the thing up your get thumped with a bible!!!

In this country we value rock stars, movie stars and athletes. They can have a lavish lifestyle, and a pastor who restores lives that were broken shouldn't? When our value system elevates a man who can put a ball in a hole and not a man who does God's work, something is wrong. hahahaha Are these people nuts? Yeah, the only difference between Rock and Movie stars they have to pay taxes on their 4M dollar estates....

Detroit World Outreach Church isn't apologizing. In fact, members say the mansion is proof God has blessed them. Haha, yeah, now hurry up and pay your taxes....

Yes, I read the article. And I will say again, prosperity is NOT un-Biblical. So whats your problem with a man of God being prosperous?

Quit with your hate speech.

I think the problem is them not paying tax.

So the church exemption should be revoked?

Yes, or at least capped.

Goes back the old saying :

"People don't care how much a Pastor makes until he makes one dollar more than they do"

Second, there's nothing un-Biblical about prosperity. Dunno why you all get up in arms about it. Looks to me like yet another reason to bash Christianity.
Greed or the hoarding of material objects is one of the seven deadly sins.

Do you have Chapter and Verse for that? Or just a DVD of a fictional movie?

Wow. I guess you have no idea what kinds of community services churches provide ( Google catholic services sometime) because they use that money for the community. Capped is very interesting. I guess taxable income should be capped as well?

Maybe they do, but remember it's like a rich guy handing out charity ? they?ll say it?s not reliable, not enough. They believe in socialism which leaves no room for privatization. The government, as they shall make it, will be the only one with enough money after taxes to give anything to anyone.

Everything shall go through the hands of Washington. Then we?ll wonder where far worse expansions of the Patriot Act came from.

I fail to see how giving a pastor a 3.3 million dollar house is a charitable act.

What man calls himself pious and doesn't know the 7 cardinal sins? And i'm not even a religous sheep. I find it humorous the sheer amount of hypocrits in our society, primarily the religous, every time i see a so called religous person claim they feel pleasure @ anothers punishment (incarceration or capital punishment), or speak down to others that don't follow their religion, i get another laugh....

Funny thing is if there really is a heaven, when some of these idiots die they'll be shocked when they wake up and they see fire......

So if the house is compensation, i.e. a salary, then the pastor is obligated to pay taxes on it or go to jail for tax evasion.

No, it doesnt. You need a bible lesson or two.

How about a dictionary for you:
n. An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth.

See that? Theres a huge difference between collecting wealth and have an excessive desire to have more. One is contentedness, the other is the opposite. Maybe in your mind they are the same thing, but in reality they are not.

"You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's"

That doesn't address the "hoarding" part, but it definately addresses "greed".

Collecting weatlh is contendedness? how did you make that stretch?

Ambition is veiled greed, not contentedness, much like vanity is akin to pride, who are you to think you deserve to be so prosperous? is that not you feeling you are above the next man and are worth more? and isn't that so called prosperity only an affirmation of your Pride, Your elevated sense of self worth, that you deserve to have what others cannot? Man i love watching you guys twist your dogma to fit the moment.

And like I said that should be tax because there is no need to give tax breaks to an organization that is paying 3.3 million for a house that has nothing to do with charity work.

I believe God made that decision.

Let me ask you...do you think Howard Schultz (creator of Starbucks) feels he is above everyone else because he was succesful at making a great cup of coffee? WTF is wrong with you?

If you cant tell the difference between greed and ambition, we have no more to talk about. I tihnk I would have better luck explaining it to my dog.

You're missing the whole part about acquiring material wealth at the expense of others. That too is considered greed.

You're contradicting yourself now. You said, "It's not charity, it's salary. Who ever said his salary was charity?" Its either salary or it isn't. So which is it?
