I checked out Linspire years ago and hated it. I checked out the screenshots for freespire though, and I'm not at al impressed with the overall look. Of course, freespire's main goal is to look and feel like Windows; whereas Ubuntu's goal is to look and feel like the best distro it can be.
One thing interesting that I noticed in the screenshots though - it looks like it has a package management system with proprietary software in it. Namely, it showed Postal 2: Share the Pain with a price tag on it. If they found a good way to integrate pay-for software into their packaging system, and have one-click install for it, then that's a pretty good thing IMO.
