Freeware Motherboard Temperature Monitor

Hi.

After my computer fell to the brink of death, I was forced to replace my Motherboard and CPU with new, recent items using an AM2 socket and an PCIe slot (a major upgrade from my old motherboard that used A socket and an AGP slot). Unfortunately, while the upgrade has radically improved my computer's performance, I can no longer use the excellent Motherboard Monitor program due to the fact they stopped upgrading their program for new chipsets. I was wondering if you guys could suggest any alternatives in the Freeware area. My motherboard is a GA-M61SME-S2, and my CPU is an AMD Athlon X2 2.1 GHz dual core.

Oh, and I need a program that doesn't require Yahoo! Widgets or other internet access like SpeedFan Temperature Monitor 5.0.

'Hope that this can be added to the Freeware list.

speedfan temp mon 5.0 ? I haven't heard of that before

however there is software called just "Speedfan" and it may work well for you

I looked at your search and was confused when there were two different SpeedFans. Redid my search on Softpedia and found out that the version I found was simply a widget that uses the original SpeedFan for Yahoo! Widget Engine fans.

SpeedFan Temperature Monitor 5.0

The current actual SpeedFan version is a beta, 4.34, but 4.33 is still available.

doesn't matter.
it didn't save ur last pc did it?
new cpu's throttle on excessive temp, many m/b have features for shut off or whatever if fans fail.
its not important.

Oh, uh, clarification: HW Monitor is shareware, not freeware. Seems like an excellent program, but I need something that requires no internet access.

I'll see about testing SpeedFan soon.

Whoa, uh, oops? The program I found was Hmonitor, not HWmonitor.

<feels extremely stupid>

My bad, people.

Despite my screw up, I found out that SpeedFan 4.33 works brilliantly, just what I needed. I added it to my start up and set the program to minimize when it opens, so I have the overall PC temperature icon going when I start Windows. Just like Motherboard Monitor, only in blue instead of red.



Anyway, I'll be sure to add our findings to the Freeware Programs Thread. Cheers.
