It is so much better than Adobe (So much lighter yet does everything and more)

I like Foxit better than Acrobat as well... tried it when it came with my U3-enabled flash drive.

Is there anyway to get Foxit to open a pdf within Firefox or IE like Acrobat Reader can do? The only thing I can find in Firefox is in Options -> Contents -> Manage, but I can't change the plugin and can only use Foxit to open the document as a new, separate program.

Not sure if this will work because I haven't tried it. In FF go to Tools-Options-Content-File types-click on Manage. Find PDF Document and change the action to open with FF.exe. EDIT: That didn't work Try this plugin.

Wireshark is a free network monitoring software, which comes on Linux OSes (at least on Fedora). It used to be called Ethereal but they changed the name of it. It works in WinXP, don't know about Vista yet.

Oh, and, Netbeans also has plugins for other languages, such as C++...

I have been looking for a freeware DVD burning program for a long time and just came across this : DVD Flick One can create DVDs to watch on a normal (non-pc) DVD player.

DVDFabDecryptor is one of the best DVD making program as far as free and rips a copy to the local hard drive.

It took over the baton from both DVD Decryptor and DVD Shrink. If only we had a DVDRegionFree replacement.

Thanks for TrueCrypt reference. I have been pulling my hair out looking for a good encryption program for my laptop as to protect my data in case it is stolen. There have been an increasing number of robberies in my area since Hurricane Katrina forced more people into my city. With TrueCrypt, I can feel safe that my data is protected. Very cool program!

Did you emphasize your text "FREE" to say that Vmware and/or Virtual PC is not free?


VMware Server, MS Virtual PC and MS Virtual Server are free products as well.
