Before you quote the whois information people please keep something in mind. In the case of fradulent websites like this it is almost always forged information. They steal someone elses contact info and simply assign a freemail account to the registration. Being that most domain administration is handled by email the account then is maintained by them using fradulent contact info.

So if you post the Whois info on a domain site, please note if the email address is a freemail one that the registration info is probably bogus.

Didn't the last PP scam have a personal name & address attached to the whois query?

Did you read what I wrote? In almost all of the fradulent website cases the email address is the only valid item. They harvest a name and address from someone elses website and use that with their email address. So when you call up the supposed owner to yell at them you are more than likely causing trouble for someone that is completely innocent. Why don't you try assuming innocence and not guilt.

Whatever. This is completely unrelated to Paypal. Someone could do the same for your bank, credit accounts, etc.

I'll bet paypal is getting pretty efficient at getting these sites closed down, but I wonder how much people have scammed.

i really doubt that many, likewise i saw on the news about ubid passwords being stolen the same way, but what can u do with those? bid on items, change the shipping address, and have them shipped to you and then u get shipped to jail.

There are a lot of people who use the same account/password for all of their accounts on the internet.

Just received a email stating that X has sent a pending Epayment to my account to the tune of $250. It gives a couple of links, and information about receiving the payment, etc

Problem is, I've never heard of X nor done any business with him, nor has my wife. I am assuming it's a scam, but where do I check it out?

if "X's" payment requires u to "log-in" to a special super secure russian site to verify the payment, its a scam
