Hey all.. As of yesterday I started experiencing frequent lockups in any games i play. prior to this it has never really been a problem. shouldn't really be a heat issue because my cpu and video card were not real warm to the touch and i have always had my case open. I am using a Elsa Gladiac Geforce 2 MX with the latest 28.32 drivers. The only games I really play are Q3A and EverQuest, both of which continue to freeze. I have sufficient power for my 900mhz (300w) as i know anything less than that can cause instability. So far i've tried reinstalling directx as well as my video drivers. I am also using the latest via 4 in 1's.
For additional information ,see below. (PS: I did notice the inactive entries. I wouldn't think it would cause an issue because its 'inactive' he he.) Appreciate any help guys

PS: My dads gonna kick my ass if he finds out the computer aint working right so i could really use some help

I haven't tried that because if the ram was bad wouldn't i have been locking up over a year ago when i built this system? i'll give it a try though.. I also have the AC running in nmy house right now, gonna get it real nice and cool in here and try it again

switched to one stick of ram, having trouble getting it to post using nvidia drivers now. Changed to 12.60 drivers and then rebooted and got NvQtwk RUN DLL errors.. gah, tried uninstalling the 28.32 drivers and then got a missing vxd message when i rebooted. so i reinstalled them and now im fixing to change back to 12.60 drivers and try using the other stick of ram.

im so frustrated

Ack...After I reinstalled the 28.32 drivers and then switched to 12.60 im still getting the RUN DLL Error in NvQTwK Missing Entry:NvCplDaemon error. Tried to click the "settings" tab in the "Display Properties" and the screen changed res and went black. Gah this is terrible . Not to mention this is after I tried running with both sticks of ram and by themselves.

I ran boot log analyzer and i get a failed load on ndis2sup.vxd and INCOMEPLETEFAILED = SDVXD
Also i was able to get in the settings tab of the display properties and it wont let me go any higher than 1024x768@256 colors now.

Just went into MSCONFIG and disabled NvQ and NvCplDaemon in the startup, no error on load and i can get into settings and modify everything just fine. time to run a game and see how it goes. Sur ehope it dont lock up

Last night I switched out video cards. Took out the Elsa Gladiac and put in a Stealth III S540 Xtreme and i still locked up. I even took off the cpu fan and cleaned out all the gunk between the heatsink and the fan.

Any other suggestions? I'm like, so confused here.
