I laugh at silly boycotters who wont buy French products, but probably own a german car and ten thousand products from China. Werent they opposed to the war too?

But it's a democracy, people can do whatever they want no matter how silly or stupid.

That's right, I support terror and fundementalist regimes with every fill up.

Yup, but they are "friendly" fundamentalists like the Sauds, so it's all good.

What I'm stumped by is etech's claim that if France Germany and Russia had supported an Ultimatum Iraq might have given up it's WMD. To all appearances they didn't have any of any real import to give up. I thought the streets were lined with them.

Moonie,

Britain's foreign secretary Jack Staw also said it. Why did you leave that little detail out?

No big deal here, etech but I was refering to your quote of Straw's claim. I wasn't claiming that it was your claim only that you were posting somebody elses claim and that you agree with it. It seems also to be a US claim. The first think I noted about the tremendous threat from Iraq and our need to destroy any preemptive use of those weapons on us if we didn't attack them was that they didn't use them on us when we did attack them. That's like claiming I'm going to beat the crap out of you if you don't take a poke at me, but I do nothing if you do. Odd behavior for a dangerous threat. Where are the WMD? There should be millions of them and half our army should be dead.

Are you suggesting that Bush's boys will create a fake division manned by unreal people and then claim they were gassed and or worse and they all dissapeared the cause being Iraqi WMD and then use the unpaid insurance to offest the country club fees of the real winners of all this???

Nah... I didn't think so..

Where did we go so wrong that we can't make the variety and wonderousness of French cheeses here at home. Damn, do the French have a palate or what. And French cooking. Geez what a glorious people. I can't think of anything more wonderful than the joy of French cheese. What an absolutly astounding race. Phenominal. Goats and sheep walk around in my mouth when I eat their cheese. Cows go MOOO. Incredible, what joy it brings. A million kinds. If I live for ever I'll never taste them all. Viva la France! I gotta go taste some cheese. I got Micheline on my Cadillac too. Perfect for hauling cheese.

LOL!

I heard on NPR that the French are selling 15% less wine in the US. In the last 35 years. the French have frequently disagreed with the US. I wonder if this economic pressure will affect their foreign policies.

DrSmooth, do you think becoming an international Paraiah state will affect ours?

LUNAR RAY REFLECTING OFF TINFOIL HAT, I know that country club of which you speak. Trust me, the cheese they serve is French.

I am not advocating punishing anyone for being against a war. We have seen the US flex its military muscle. With this boycott are we seeing the US consumer flex their economic muscle and will it affect France's foreign policies?

Well I'm answering your question with a question. Is becoming a pariah state affecting our foreign policy? I don't know but to my question the answer seems to be no and one would think it to be more compelling.

you're being a little naive. so they are selling 15% less wine, do you think the french are starving now? it takes a little more than a boycott to change a countries foreign policy, esp. a country as big as france.

1) The French aren't a "race".

2) Let's all boycott China, Russia, and Germany (along with the vast majority of other nations on the face of the earth that opposed the war) while we're at it. Sheesh, what a bunch of maroons....

Thank you for the criticism. But I was asking a question not making a statement.

The only thing that is going to changed US foreign policy is GWB not getting re-elected in 2004.
