Is this not worded clearly enough?

I ship next business day after payment to confirmed Paypal addresses only. Payment is expected within 48 hours after auction close, and I will only ship to buyers within the United States. If you cannot meet these criteria please do not bid.

Who wins my auction? Some guy from India with zero feedback. <sigh>

I made that selection when I listed the item, that's why I don't understand how he was able to bid.

Had the same problem when I was trying to sell a laptop two years ago. Ended up blocking international buyers from my auctions.

It is definitely not worded clearly enough. I *could* interpret it as you will only ship to people who bought within the united states. maybe the buyer was in the US and wanted you to ship it to someone in India.

I've experienced this in the past as well, I've blocked international bidders and still had them bid. Ebay won't help you on this btw. Maybe 3 years ago, but now their customer service is pretty bad.

I'm guessing the guy isn't going to have a confirmed Paypal address which should make it pretty much a slam dunk on EBay's end, right? I mean, they can't honestly expect me to ship it around the world to a non-confirmed address . . .

WRONG!!! They expect you to ship it and incur the chargeback as they also own paypal.

Man that would piss me off. I block intl buyers, but I didn't realize the feature doesn't actually work. I don't sell much on eBay, though, so I guess I've lucked out not having to deal with a situation like this.

I replied back to him that I didn't have a problem with the sale price, just shipping it overseas, as was stated in the listing.

Because he selected to block international bidders. Despite him clearly stating in the auction that he will not ship overseas, Ebay won't do jack for him and expect him to ship it and get raped.

I have some tail lights on Ebay right now, and only sell to the US and Canada eh.

However, some people at least try to get you to sell to them, but the ones I have encountered are nice enough to at least ASK first. Here was todays email:

"Can you send this utem to azerbaijan, if yes, please shipping cost.

Now, I have sold a CPU to a guy in Russia, so its not a big deal (just pray that the person isnt banned by the government from receiving goods from the US). Usually when I decide to sell to someone outside the country I check their feedback. If most of it is less than 90 days old, that might be a sign to avoid them since you can get a chargeback if they are using "fraudulent funds".

Ive lost about $1000 to this, and the person happened to be a lady from Arizona who built PCs. She fell behind in shipping them out for health reasons or whatever, people started taking their money back and I get hit for a grand 60 days after the sales for receiving fraudulent funds. Anyway, long story short I trusted this woman because of her long ebay history, but from now on NO SALES to DEALERS, no more than ONE SALE per person per 90 days and no sales using cash paypal (credit card only, since cash gets no seller protection).

Same thing happened to me recently. I specifically stated that I will not accept any payment from a non-verified/unconfirmed ship to address through Paypal.

Sure enough, I get a payment from a non-verified/unconfirmed ship to address. I ended up refunding the guy and telling him that I cannot complete the transaction since he was not able to follow the terms set forth in the auction.

It seems to me that eBay is turning into a scammer pacificst heaven. It's sickening to watch it turn to crap. It was once a very good place to buy/sell things. Now there are so many scammers without much recourse that it worries me. I don't plan on doing business on eBay anymore.

Try Craigslist if you can. I ended up selling my item that I tried to sell on eBay on CL.
