Drill a hole into the platters so that no one can recover anything off them, ever.
I just beat the crap out of the hd's with a hammer. I don't have the tools to take a hd apart, so those that have died in the past get the hammer. It's good stress relief especially if you're ticked off at technology at any point.

All you have to have is the serial number off the HD, which is supposed to be on the label. I don't know about IBM but WD has a 3 year warranty on their SE drives.

Just run the DFT from ibm and it repaired a load of errors on the disk, although it now shows up in the bios it is miss reporting the size by 6 GB.
Also it does not show up in windows explorer but it does in device manager, does anyone know how to fix this?
