friend is leaving country to visit dying grandpa...

what should i give her to bring on her trip... and what should i say? this is a girl that i was seeing couple months ago... and i really care about her. she is really sad to have to leave all her school work behind in the middle of the semester to see her grandpa before he pass....any suggestions?

Wow, that is tough. I would just go to her and let her know that I care and that I will do anything for her. Ask her what would help her out? Having her know that someone is caring enough to volunteer to do anything to help will probably make her feel much better.

give her something small that she can carry with her so when times are rough while she's with her grandpa, she can look at it and it'll make her smile. i take it you aren't seeing her anymore? if so, then don't make it too mushy, think about something you know she likes/makes her happy and give that to her (preferrably something portable that she can take with her)

That is definitely rough. Leaving the country to see a dying relative is one of the hardest decisions that some of us have to make and sometimes, no matter how hard we try, nothing can make it right. I definitely feel for her the pain in which she is going through, and you, the pain of seeing a good friend with sadness on her mind.
